Mountain Area Land Trust Announces Protection of 44 acres in Conifer
Mountain Area Land Trust (MALT) announced today a voluntary Conservation Easement on a 44-acre property in the Richmond Hill area of Conifer, perpetually preserving, protecting and conserving a unique natural area.
The idyllic property features gentle meadows, a year-round creek bordered by aspens, abundant wildlife habitat, and a forested area of mixed coniferous trees, including Douglas fir, ponderosa, and lodgepole pine. The property borders public (BLM) land and features native plant species and a healthy diverse forest providing food, shelter, breeding grounds, and migration corridors for numerous wildlife species, including elk, mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, bobcat, fox, coyotes, numerous songbirds, amphibians, and small mammals.
“We are grateful to the landowners of this beautiful property, who recognize the significance of conserving this land and water in Conifer via a voluntary conservation agreement. This is a transformative step toward preserving natural areas, wildlife habitat, and pristine open spaces that define our region, ensuring future generations can experience these enduring landscapes,” shares Lynn Caligiuri, MALT Executive Director.
As a nonprofit, MALT relies on the community’s generosity to support its land and water conservation efforts. To donate and learn more, visit SaveTheLand.org or call (303) 679-0950.
