Floyd Hill Meadow Gifted to MALT from Albert Frei & Sons
Mountain Area Land Trust (MALT) is thrilled to receive a donation of 18-acres from Albert Frei & Sons, Inc.
The area known by many residents as Floyd Hill Meadow, or the Homestead Parcel, is adjacent to Clear Creek High School, and the scenic views are enjoyed by neighborhood residents and millions of people traveling on I-70 and US Highway 40. Floyd Hill Meadow can also be seen from another MALT-conserved property, Floyd Hill Open Space, which is located on the north side of I-70.
The Floyd Hill Meadow parcel abuts I-70 and a neighborhood entrance that leads to more than 350 residences, businesses and schools. The property’s natural areas include beautiful open meadows, quaking aspen, riparian areas and a seasonal pond. Elk, black bear, deer and other wildlife are frequently spotted throughout the property.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous gift from the Frei family,” MALT Executive Director Lynn Caligiuri shared. “The acquisition will ensure protection of important wildlife habitat, secure a natural public view-scape and provide recreational and educational opportunities for residents and visitors to the area. This is a tremendous gift for the community, and we are thankful to Albert Frei & Sons for their thoughtful donation supporting land and water conservation.”
“At Albert Frei & Sons, we take our commitment to the environment and our community seriously. This donation to Mountain Area Land Trust is our way of giving back to the Clear Creek community and leaving a lasting, positive impact in the communities where we live, work and play,” Albert Frei & Sons President, Albert R. Frei, Jr. shared.
As a nonprofit, MALT relies on the generosity of the community to support its land and water conservation efforts. To make a donation and to learn more, visit SaveTheLand.org or call (303) 679-0950.
