Floyd Hill Meadow Clean Up

Volunteers Wanted! Floyd Hill Meadow Clean Up

Mountain Area Land Trust (MALT) needs volunteers to pick up trash and pull noxious weeds at its newly acquired parcel – Floyd Hill Meadow (FHM). This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and encourage friends, neighbors and co-workers to join in to support a good cause. Volunteers should bring work gloves, a water bottle and wear durable clothes and shoes.

To volunteer, please contact malt@savetheland.org or (303) 679-0950.

Monday, June 3 | 9 a.m. – noon

FHM is located at the cross-section of Homestead Road and Beaver Brook Canyon Road, accessible from the I-70 and Floyd Hill/Beaver Brook exits; catty-corner to Floyd Hill Open Space in Evergreen. Parking is available along the pull off by the meadow and the Park-n-Ride.

This project involves pulling weeds like Common Mullein and Canadian Thistle, picking up trash and bagging it for removal.

FHM serves as a grazing area for wildlife and there is a walking trail used by students and the community. Managing noxious weeds is vital to the overall health of the meadow. With limited staff available, volunteer support is appreciated!

MALT recommends this volunteer activity for those age eight (8) years and older. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.
